Daniyar Uderbekov is a product designer from Kazakhstan whose work blends the traditions of nomadic culture, modern technology, and an eco-conscious approach. Born in Almaty, he is a graduate in graphic arts. He began his career in Astana as a graphic designer and later, together with his wife, worked on designing exhibition stands and pavilions, participating in international events such as "Aichi 2005" (Japan), "Zaragoza 2008" (Spain), "Shanghai 2010" (China), and "Yeosu 2012" (South Korea).
In 2012, he founded an event agency, and in his spare time, he started creating furniture and decor for himself and his loved ones. During the pandemic in 2020, his wife suggested he turn his hobby into a profession. In 2021, Daniyar enrolled in the "Detali" School of Design, where he found inspiration in his roots and traditional materials.
Today, Daniyar works not only with felt but also with natural stone, emphasizing the sustainability of his projects. Felt, a traditional material of the nomadic people, is combined with frames made from garden tool handles and elements crafted from recycled plastic. Natural stone, in turn, adds strength, natural beauty, and durability to his works.
In 2022, he created a felt collection featuring a chair, ottoman, and shelving unit, which gained recognition at various competitions, including the Rossana Orlandi Guiltless Plastic 2023 final in Milan. In 2023, he was invited to present his works at Dutch Design Week in the Netherlands.
In October 2024, Daniyar participated in the exhibition "Curated" by renowned Belgian designer Lionel Jadot in Brussels, where he showcased his works that combine traditional materials with contemporary design. This event marked a significant milestone in his career, highlighting the international recognition of his talent.
Daniyar strives to create items that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally friendly, using natural materials and recycled resources. His work is a synthesis of traditions, modern technology, and a respectful attitude toward nature, inspiring new experiments.
